Five natural ways to soothe your pet’s itchy skin


Yogurt

 

Plain, un-flavored and probiotic yogurt keeps nice bacteria in your pet’s tummy. The cooling effect of yogurt aids boost their immune system, aiding them fight any possible skin and yeast infection. Feeding 1 teaspoon to a small dog and 2  teaspoons to a bigger one once a week, would do the trick. It’s great to mix a teaspoon or 2 of yogurt into your cat’s food.


Apple cider vinegar (ACV)


Unpasteurized apple cider vinegar restores the acidic nature of your pet’s skin, killing pathogens or bacteria thereby decreasing itchiness. In a spray bottle, mix together equal portion of apple cider vinegar and water. Spray this solution directly over a your pet’s coat. Do not follow this technique in case of open sores or wounds.


Coconut oil


The fat content in coconut oil keeps the skin of your pet good moisturized and even promotes the growth of healthy skin and fur. When provided orally, coconut oil can increase your pet’s immune system. Mix between 1 teaspoon and 1 tablespoon of additional-virgin coconut oil (depending on the size) into your pet’s meal. You can even mix together half-a-cup extra-virgin coconut oil with 2-3 drops of oregano oil and rub over your pet’s itchy spots. Repeat 2 time  daily.


Oatmeal


Oatmeal aids relieve itchiness giving a soothing relief. Make your dog an oatmeal bath by adding 1 cup oatmeal powder to a tub filled with a warm water. Let your pet soak into it for a 15-20 minutes. Dry your fur buddy thoroughly with a soft towel. You can follow this once regular.


Neem


This natural antiseptic aids fight skin infections and decrease itchiness aiding relief. After you have boiled a handful of Neem leaves in 2 cups of water, strain and let cool. Utilizing  a spray bottle, spray this solution on your pet’s fur and leave to dry naturally. Repeat this once regularly.
