For personals that live below poverty level & lower income group, an decease not only represents a permanent threat to their income and earning capacity, but in many cases it leads to the family falling into a trap of debt. When got to obtain treatment arises for a poor family they often ignore it because of  lack of resources, fearing loss of wages, or they wait till the last moment when it's too late. Health and a poverty are interwoven. These families are pushed into a vile debt poverty cycle thanks to excessive expenditures arising out of catastrophic health shocks.
To address this key vulnerability faced by the BPL population within the Gujarat, Mukhyamantri Amrutam “MA” Yojana was issued  on 4th September, 2012 by Government of Gujarat.
When within the Lower bourgeoisie families, critical decease occur and when such families aren't contained within the definition of BPL in order that they cannot obtain free treatment, and that they aren't ready to give money for critical illness. So, supported feedback from different stakeholders, the Scheme was extended to families of lower income group names as Mukhyamantri Amrutam Vatsalya Yojana in August 2014.
